About this speaker
Katie Vagen is an Assistant Director and Career Counselor in the Career Services office at Bridgewater State University where she has worked for 12 years. Prior to her arrival at BSU, Katie received her Master’s degree in College Student Development and Counseling from Northeastern University and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Connecticut. In her role at BSU, Katie manages career development initiatives while also counseling undergraduate and graduate students, and alumni from all different majors and backgrounds and serves as the liaison to the College of Education, the Family Association, and several multicultural based clubs on campus. She also coordinates several signature programs including the BSU Etiquette Dinner, Alumni Career Panels, the Practice Interview Program, and the Education Career Fair. Katie’s personal and professional interests include working with low income, first-generation students as seen through her previous volunteer involvement with Summer Search and Bottom Line, two non-profit organizations that provide summer experiential learning opportunities along with college access support and mentorship to this population. Outside of work, Katie has two young children that keep her and her husband busy, busy, busy!
