Megan Wigton

Coordinator of STEP, Salem State University

About this speaker

My name is Megan Wigton and I coordinate the Student Transition and Engagement Program (STEP) at Salem State University. STEP is a coaching and mentoring program for Pell Grant eligible first-year students, many of whom also identify as first in their families to attend college. I started the program in 2012 and look forward to celebrating our tenth year next year. I am a graduate of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (MA) and Salem State University (M.Ed) and have a passion for increasing access and equity in higher education. I am looking forward to connecting with you during this session and discussing maximizing our impact as first-gen mentors.
