About this Workshop
Aniah Washington is a senior at Amherst College majoring in Black studies. Her current thesis is a creative media project that focuses on healing the trauma families face due to maternal incarceration. An artist at heart, she began performing spoken word poetry in her first semester at Amherst and has since made poetry and creative writing an essential part of her life and academic work. Aniah also has a passion for black cats, dunkin' donuts, and chasing sunsets.
