About this Workshop

"Social Capital Theory tells us that who you know and what relationships you have matter. These connections can act as currency in your life and impact your ability to navigate and succeed in different environments including academic and career. As a First Gen Student, you may feel as if you have no network to lean on, as if you’re doing it all on your own. This workshop will focus on how you can use the LinkedIn Alumni Tool to connect with alumni from your college through the use of informational interviewing to build a network and increase your social capital. In doing so, you will have a pipeline of professionals that can offer advice, guidance, and support as you navigate your career journey in college and beyond. This workshop is for students from all majors, class years, and career interest areas. "
